What you’ll do
We seek candidates with the desire to pursue a career as a lab instructor at Capilano University and contribute to the development of our degree programs. The successful candidate would begin lab supervision in Summer 2024 term in 100 level Biology courses, BIOL 109 – Introductory Biology (Biochemistry, Cells, Metabolism and Genetics), and BIOL 111 General Biology II (Evolution, Diversity of life, Physiology, Populations, Ecology) .
Capilano University is eligible for Tri-council research funding in the College pool; instructors and lab supervisors are encouraged to pursue their research interests and industry collaboration if desired.

For this position you will be provided with resources to enable you to teach laboratory classes starting the week of the 6th May through to the 18th Aug. You will be eligible for future workload at Capilano University in the academic year 2024/25.
What you’ll bring
To be considered, the candidate will have a minimum requirement of an MSc in the Biological sciences and post-secondary teaching experience.

The preferred candidate will hold a PhD in the Biological Sciences, and experience teaching at the post-secondary level, ideally including at both the lower and upper levels; additional teaching qualifications will be considered favorably. Post-doctoral research experience and/or private sector work experience would also be advantageous.

We encourage applications from individuals with diverse expertise in the biological sciences.
