What you’ll do | CapU’s School of Legal Studies has been training legal professionals for over 40 years, and is an acknowledged leader in providing education services for paralegals and legal administrative assistants. We are a close knit, small program, and student experience is a priority. The School of Legal Studies offers programs to paralegal and legal administrative assistant students in an in‐person and online environment. We take a student-centered approach, and our curricula integrates case studies, projects and interactive learning experiences. Our students are focused and dedicated to their studies and will keep you on your toes and at the top of your game. Our current faculty are seasoned experts who excel in their field and are excited to welcome like-minded professionals who are on the leading edge of their field and are committed to mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds. Bring your energy, ideas and growth mindset – there may be opportunities to take on additional work/sections or develop courses in your area of expertise. We are looking for instructors to teach substantive, procedural or skill‐based courses covering various subjects. Areas of specialization are flexible; however, we are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge of or experience in commercial and residential real-estate, lending, securities, mergers & acquisitions, privacy, digital forensics and cybersecurity law, and business law. Instructors are expected to attend departmental meetings and assist the Department Chair(s) and Convenors in all areas of departmental work as assigned, including student recruitment, committee work, and the development and implementation of new courses. Letters of application should address the candidate’s philosophy of undergraduate teaching as well as their ability to foster an equitable and inclusive community within the University. We actively encourage applications from individuals who identify as racialized, Indigenous, Black, and/or persons of color. In keeping with Capilano University’s commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada Calls to Action and addressing historic barriers to higher education, the ideal candidate brings lived Indigenous experience to enhance learning in the classroom. We invite candidates to self-identify and be part of our mission to create a truly inclusive educational environment. |
